With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I have been thinking of ways that I can decorate my home with my lovely little crochet hearts. After decorating the house with adorable tiny crochet confetti hearts, I decided to make larger hearts and connect them to form a garland! You can watch the video tutorial for the crochet heart garland here or follow the pattern below!
You can make them in classic red and white…
or in pastels to look like conversation hearts…
I even made a garland using the tiny hearts…
For this pattern you will need:
Crochet hearts (7 for large garland and 15 for small garland)
2 colors of yarn (size 10 for small hearts and size 4 for large hearts)
crochet hook (size 6 for smaller hearts and size I for large hearts)
For the larger garland, you will need 7 hearts. You will start with chain 282.
For the smaller garland, you need 15 hearts. You will start with chain 570.
Once you have completed your chain, cut the yarn and end the chain. Attach the next color of yarn into the first chain. Slip stitch into the next 30 chains. Pick up your first heart and insert hook into the back loop of the single crochet on the top of the heart, insert the hook into the next chain on the chain, yarn over and pull your hook through all 3 loops to slip stitch and attach the heart to the chain. Slip stitch in next 4 chains. repeat the slip stitch through the back loop of the single crochet on the other side of the heart and through the next chain to attach the heart on the other side. Slip stitch next 30 chains. Attach the next heart using the same method as before. Once all hearts are attached, slip stitch through last 30 chains and finish off.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope your home will be beautifully decorated with lovely crochet heart this Valentine’s Day!
Happy Valentine’s Day! xoxo
